RATES, INQUIRIES, AND AVAILABILITY CALENDAR
The Alte Färberei is a self-catering guesthouse. We rent the house only as a whole unit; that is, you cannot book individual rooms with us. Below, we provide information about our rates and other terms and conditions. Further down on this page, you’ll find our availability calendar and our inquiry form.
Our rates for 2026:
Renting the entire house costs EUR 855 per night if you are staying with 14 or fewer people. If you are staying with more than 14 people, each additional person costs an extra EUR 43 per night.
Children: Ages 12 and up: EUR 43; ages 6–12: EUR 30; ages 3–6: EUR 20;
0–3 years old: free (with a crib: 20 euros) per night
Final cleaning: up to 14 people: 250 euros; 15–21 people: 310 euros;
more than 21 people: 390 euros.
Our prices include towels and bed linens, heating, electricity, and water costs, as well as 7% VAT. Charging costs for electric cars are billed separately.
Discount for bringing your own bed linens and towels: 8 EUR per person per night.

Base price per night: 875 euros (for up to 14 people)
Each additional person: 45 euros
Children: Ages 12 and up: 45 EUR; ages 6–12: 32 EUR; ages 3–6: 22 EUR; ages 0–3: free (with a crib: 20 EUR) per night.
Final cleaning: up to 14 people: 260 EUR; 15–21 people: 320 EUR more than 21 people: 390 EUR.

The minimum stay is two nights. During Easter, Pentecost, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and on public holidays, the minimum stay is three nights.
Check-in is from 3:00 p.m., check-out is by 11:00 a.m.; other times are possible by arrangement and may incur an additional charge.
Well-behaved dogs that do not sleep on the couch or in the beds are welcome.
If you would like to rent the Alte Färberei for a daytime or evening event without an overnight stay, please contact us. However, this is generally only possible on weekdays and, in some cases, on Sundays.
Cancellation fees amount to 50% of the rental price (= the amount of the deposit) for cancellations after a confirmed reservation. For cancellations made less than three months before the booked arrival date, the cancellation fee is 100% of the rental price. The reason for this is that most groups plan their stay more than three months in advance. In the event of a cancellation (regardless of when it occurs), the canceled dates will be made available for another booking under the regular terms and conditions. If the house can be rebooked for the canceled dates, the cancellation fee is reduced to EUR 200 plus any loss of revenue from the new booking compared to the canceled booking.
We recommend purchasing travel cancellation insurance.

Please include the approximate number of guests in your inquiry. For fire safety reasons, the number of overnight guests may not exceed 30 under any circumstances. Fire safety regulations do not distinguish based on the age of overnight guests. Therefore, babies and toddlers are fully counted toward the fire safety-mandated limit of 30 overnight guests.
If you are planning a celebration with more than 30 guests, your additional guests may stay on the premises during the day and in the evening while the celebration is taking place (but they may not stay overnight). For guests who are celebrating with you in the house but are not staying overnight at the Alte Färberei, we charge a daily flat rate of EUR 15.00 per person.
If you do not yet know exactly how many people will be staying at the house when you make your reservation, we will initially issue an invoice for the number of guests whose attendance you are certain of. If the number then increases, we will issue a second invoice for the additional guests well in advance of your stay. Please let us know the exact number of your guests no later than six weeks before the start of your stay.
If you need more than 30 overnight accommodations for your celebration, there are several options for housing your guests in the immediate vicinity of the Alte Färberei: Right next door (Borngasse 6) is a small one-room vacation apartment called “Am Börnchen” (Tel. 06482-1464) that sleeps two people. At Burgstraße 18 (a two-minute walk away) is the “Unterm Burgfels” guesthouse (Tel. 06482-608481), which offers five guest rooms. On the other side of the Lahn River in Runkel-Schadeck is the Landhaus Schaaf (Tel. 06482-2980), which offers a variety of guest rooms (a 14-minute walk). During the warmer months, you can stay in teepees at the Runkel Campground (Tel. 06482-911022) (a 7-minute walk).
