Is there a parking lot

There are two parking spaces at the house. Public but limited parking spaces are located in the immediate vicinity at the train station or at the bleaching/camping site. The parking spaces at the ice cream parlor may not be used (short-term parkers).

 

How do you get to the old dye works without a car? Where is the nearest train station?

There are regional Deutsche Bahn connections by train directly to Runkel. The next national train station is 15 minutes away by car in Limburg-Süd (ICE).

The local train station is a 200m walk from the Alte Färberei.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, WiFi is available and can be received on all three floors.

 

BOOKING

Can I book directly through the website?

A booking request is via email (info@altefaerberei-runkel.de) or about our inquiry form possible. If you give us your phone number, we'll be happy to call you back. The booking calendar on the website is regularly updated. Before making a booking request, please check the booking calendar on the website to see whether the date you want is still available.

 

Is it also possible to book the Alte Färberei just for a one-day event?

Yes. However, a binding commitment is only given at short notice if it is clear that the house will not be booked by overnight guests on that day.

 

ROOM/OVERNIGHT

 

How many people can stay in the Alte Färberei?

Up to 30 people can stay in the house. On the upper floor there are four double rooms, one of which is a suite consisting of two rooms. On the top floor are two triple rooms, particularly suitable for children and young people, and another double room. In addition, there is a large room in the attic that is perfect as a mattress dorm. You can get a precise overview of the size and location of the sleeping accommodations floor plans be removed.

Can I also book individual rooms?

In principle, the Alte Färberei can only be rented as a whole. Subject to availability, it is possible to rent only the ground floor for day or evening use.

Can I bring my own bed linen and towels?

There is a discount for those who bring their own bed linen and towels. Details on request.

What accommodation options are there for children and young people?

The Alte Färberei is perfect for families with school-age children and young people. Children and young people prefer to take over the top floor. There are two triple rooms, a large dormitory that is often used as a play center during the day, another room and a bathroom/toilet.

Do the rooms have private bathrooms?

The rooms do not have private bathrooms. Upstairs there is a bathroom/toilet and a bathroom with three separate showers. There is a bathroom/toilet in the attic.

Is the Alte Färberei barrier-free?

The Alte Färberei is partially barrier-free. On the ground floor, access from the bridge side was made barrier-free as part of the renovation. In addition, the yard of the old dye works was made barrier-free as part of the renovation. Inside, however, the house is not barrier-free. The house should nevertheless be easy to use for families with younger children in wheelchairs. Unfortunately, the house is not suitable for groups with older wheelchair users.

 

FOOD/COOKING/CATERING

 

How many dining places does the large room on the ground floor offer?

18-30 people can be seated at the three solid wood tables. The room is big enough to put additional tables. The floorplan gives a concrete idea of the room size.

Can you use the kitchen?

The house is intended for self-catering. Therefore, the kitchen is of course available for use.

​

How is the kitchen equipped?

The kitchen of the Alte Färberei has two dishwashers, refrigerators, an induction cooker and an oven. A coffee machine for up to 30 cups, two portafilter machines, fruit juicer, sodan stream, kettle and an ice cube machine are also available.

​

Are the necessary basics available in the kitchen?

Yes, the kitchen of the Alte Färberei is equipped with a repertoire of spices, oils, vinegar and other basics. Dishwasher taps, dishwashing liquid, cloths, kitchen towels, tea towels and garbage bags are also available. 

​

For how many people is there crockery?

There is crockery for up to 30 people.

​

Do we have to wash the dishes after our event?

Yes, you take over the Alte Färberei freshly cleaned and please hand it over swept clean. This includes cleaning the dishes you used and putting them back in the cupboards. As in every holiday home.

​

Is there a supermarket and bakery nearby?

There is a Rewe supermarket within walking distance. There is also a bakery there. There are other shops in the vicinity. In our guest folder, which is available in the house, you will find many valuable tips. The best cakes in Runkel are available in the Altstadt Café, also within walking distance.

Is there a grocery delivery service?

Yes. Guests can order their groceries via Rewe online at Rewe Funk. These are delivered directly to the old dye works.

​

Does the overnight stay in the Alte Färberei include breakfast?

The house is intended for self-catering. If you would like to be served, we would be happy to put you in touch with a caterer or other service providers. However, you have to commission them directly, we only establish contact.

Can you recommend a caterer?

Yes, we can recommend caterers, please contact us when making the booking request. You can also bring your own caterer.

​

Can I book an extra cleaning and kitchen service for my event?

We will be happy to put you in contact with a cleaning or kitchen service. However, you cannot book this service through the Alte Färberei, you have to order it directly. As in every holiday home.

 

FAMILIES/CHILDREN

 

Which room could be suitable for childcare during our event?

The top floor is particularly suitable for accommodating and looking after the children. There is plenty of space to play and romp around here.

 

Is there a changing table?

Yes. There is a changing table in the large shower room on the first floor.

 

Is there a high chair?

Yes, there are two high chairs.

What accommodation options are there for children and young people?

The Alte Färberei is perfect for families with school-age children and young people. Children and young people prefer to take over the top floor. There are two triple rooms, a large dormitory that is often used as a play center during the day, another room and a bathroom/toilet.

 

Children who want to sleep in their parents' room can put their mattresses in the double rooms. Four beds are available for small children. You are also welcome to set up your own cot if you have brought it with you.

 

For families with very young children (kindergarten and younger), the Alte Färberei is only partially suitable. There are no stair gates for small children. The sockets are not secured separately. The exit to the Lahn and the path from the courtyard to the street is secured by a lockable gate.

FURNISHING

 

Is there a hair dryer?

There is a hair dryer in the bathroom on the upper floor and in the attic.

​

Is there an iron and ironing board?

In the basement there is an iron and an ironing board.

​

Is there a tv?
There are no televisions in the house, no Playstation and no Xbox. If you need it, please bring it with you.

SEMINAR EQUIPMENT

Is seminar equipment available?

For your offsite, you will find projectors, screens, boxes and a flipchart in the old dye works. Presentation accessories and flipchart paper must be brought along.

EXTERIOR

 

Can the yard also be used? Is there furniture for this? Grill?

The yard can of course be used and there is enough furniture, parasols and a large grill.

​

Is there direct access to the Lahn from the Alte Färberei?

There is direct access to the banks of the Lahn from the old dye works. The banks of the Lahn may be used – at your own risk. The Lahn in Runkel is generally open for swimming. However, only very good swimmers should swim in the Lahn from the side of the old dyeing works. Good swimmers should enter the water from the other side of the Lahn. There is a bathing island on the opposite side of the Lahn. A DLRG station is manned there on weekends in summer. You can only swim up the river from the house, not down the river. Dangerous whirlpools can occur downstream of the Lahn.

Are there any outdoor recreation facilities?

The Alte Färberei has some standup boards, canoes and a water bike.

​

Is access to the banks of the Lahn child-proof?

Access to the banks of the Lahn is child-proof through a lockable gate.

​

Please note that smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Alte Färberei. Nice places are available for this in the outdoor area.
